About

Hello, my name is Dmitri. I am a True Pomor, from a family of bear hunters and cod eaters. I invite you to join my family.

I live in the city of Arkhangelsk, at the Far North of Russia. I am married and I have a little son.

I am a happy man except one thing. I do not have my own home. Me, my wife, my son and my mother-in-law live in my mother-in-law’s small flat.

Here we are:

My wife and my son:

That’s our home sweet home.

And it’s not even the worst. Just two steps away there’s a house built from wood about 100 years ago or so. It has a small garden, where vegetables and flowers grow at summer… and a satellite receiver on the roof. Whoa, hi-tech is here.

This is the house I’d like to live in:

One day I was staring at our family photo wall with all those memorable things of our life and the idea came to me. We, independent software developers are in special relationships with our customers. We develop software that helps people do what they want /need to do, and customers literally give us food and shelter (or, if lucky, “Bently” cars and black jet airplanes). It’s not the same as relationships between large software companies and their customers. Our relationships are closer. A kind of family relationships. So here’s the idea. If I sell enough copies of my product to buy an apartment, I will devote an entire wall to photos of my customers.

Here’s our small photo wall:

Price for a medium-sized flat in a not-so-old block of flats equals to 150 000 US dollars. Prices grow 15% each quarter, so by the summer the price will reach 200 000.

I plan to sell my PhotoWall program for 24.95 USD, so I need to sell around 10 000 copies to make my dream come true.
